Horley is situated in the county of Surrey in South East England and is on the very edge of West Sussex and Kent. As such there are many and extremely varied attractions within short distances from the Castle Lodge. There is something for everyone's taste and budget.

For those that are interested in history, Hever Castle, the historic home of King Henry VIII is about a 25 minute drive and provides a fascinating glimpse of Old England. It's worth putting a whole day aside for this outing enabling one to enjoy not only the "history" but also all that the local area offers.

London is best reached by train. Horley station is a short walk from Castle Lodge and provides very frequent connections. Obviously once in London you will have access to all it has to offer. Why not treat yourself to a night at the theatre or visit the art galleries, museums or historic landmarks known throughout the world. A "travel card" is an easy and economic way to use the train, tube and bus system with just one ticket.

For those who enjoy a thrill then Chessington World of Adventures or Thorpe Park should get your heart pumping! Again, both these are within a half hour drive. With some unique attractions, these venues are an ideal day out for kids aged from 8 to 80.

Brighton is the nearest sea side resort and offers many attractions and is well suited to provide retail therapy. Alternatively, why not take a stroll along its famous pier? On a good day you might even see France :-) If you enjoy more sedate entertainment why not visit one of the many gardens within a short driving distance. Sheffield Park is one of many that are well worth a visit or why not take a leisurely steam train ride on the Bluebell Railway.
